Presentazione
Questa mostra nasce da uno spostamento di sguardo: dal volto al corpo. Il volto, da sempre
riconosciuto come segno distintivo e immediato di identità, lascia il posto al busto. Al tronco. Il
tronco dell’albero del pane.
Nato da una ricerca artistica stimolata osservando la proliferazione di immagini senza volto,
soprattutto in rete, il progetto individua nell'albero del pane la metafora per rinominare il corpo
femminile: piedi ben piantati a terra, gambe salde come radici e fronde ampie e copiose. Nelle
opere in mostra, i busti, i torsi, le silhouette trasparenti non sono frammenti ma presenze intere;
luoghi in cui l’identità femminile si rivela con ancora più forza, attraverso segni, tracce di memoria
e resistenza.
Corpi femminili che smettono di essere oggetto e si affermano come soggetto agente che, a chi si fermi ad ascoltare, narra le sue gesta. Un corpo che resiste al consumo dello sguardo e che si fa spazio di identità condivisa: intima e collettiva, vulnerabile e potente, personale e politica.

Concept
This exhibition stems from a shift in perspective: from the face to the body. The face, long acknowledged as a distinctive and immediate element of identity, gives way to the torso. The trunk. The trunk of the breadfruit tree.
Based on artistic research inspired by observing the proliferation of images of faceless bodies, especially online, the project identifies the breadfruit tree as a metaphor for re-naming the female body: feet firmly planted on the ground, legs as strong as roots and broad, abundant foliage. In the works on display, the busts, torsos, and transparent silhouettes are not fragments but whole presences; places where female identity reveals itself - even more forcefully - through signs, traces of memory and resistance.
These are female bodies that stop being objects and assert themselves as active subjects, narrating
their own stories to those who take the time to listen. Bodies that resist the consumption of the
gaze and turn into a place for shared identities instead: intimate and collective, vulnerable and
powerful, personal and political.

La mostra nasce da un progetto nato appositamente per lo spazio espositivo della Casa Internazionale delle Donne di Roma. Si sviluppa in seguito come mostra ariticolata e modulare che può crescere e adattarsi ad altri spazi, altrettanto facilmente accessibili, anche in altre città e province, sia in Italia che all'estero.

The exhibition originates from a project conceived specifically for the space at Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome. It subsequently develops into a structured and modular exhibition that can grow and adapt to other equally accessible spaces, in other cities and provinces, both in Italy and abroad.
